As we're often providing metadata about ourselves that organizations can use for their gain, or malicious usage, I have started this page to document steps we can take to reduce the amount of metadata we provide:

  • Use cash, don't use debit or credit cards. Otherwise, every item you purchase can be tracked and sold.
  • Take the sim card out of your cell phone, or leave it at home, otherwise your physical location can be tracked.
  • Try our recommend Firefox plugins and block cookies if you don't want your tracks left on the internet. Use a proxy chain like tor to be even safer.
  • Wear a hoody (hooded sweater) or preferably umbrella if you're entering anywhere with video cameras. At least your facial characteristics will be covered, but the next generation of video software will detect patterns such as how you stand/walk etc.
