Any opinions on this? I'd prefer only open source, but then not much to recommend for windows security for example... |

We will only recommend free (as in beer) software. Although we strongly prefer open source software (OSS), we will recommend closed source software for commercial operating systems as there often is not yet equivalents in open source, yet. The only exception to this is we will not recommend closed source encryption related applications.
