File Transfer Protocol. This is one of the earliest means of transferring files from one computer to another computer on the Internet. Unlike most known protocols known today FTP uses 2 ports, one for control and the other for data. The ports for FTP are 20 and 21 for data and control respectively. If one is not sure check the /etc/services file for those two ports what they are.
