A quick look at the dpkg [[Manual]] shows that -L will show me what files were installed on my system from that package. In my case, I know I&#039;m looking for an application, which are usually installed in a directory that ends with bin:<br /> <br /> # dpkg -L menu | grep bin/<br /> /usr/bin/update-menus<br /> /usr/bin/update-menus.real<br /> /usr/sbin/install-menu<br /> /usr/sbin/su-to-root<br /> /usr/sbin/wm-menu-config<br /> /usr/bin/install-menu<br /> /usr/bin/su-to-root<br /> <br /> Lucky for me, when I read the first man page (update-menus) I realized this is the application I was looking for.</div>
