Token Ring is a proprietary technology developed at IBM. It is a ring topology with a token that gets passed around from node to node into a certain direction. When a node has the token it may pass data to it and wait for the token to come around to give it data again.

Because of the token collisions shouldn't happen as they do with a hubbed ethernet.
